  • If you’re more of an energy drink fan, or just want a quick bite to-go, Wall St. Market is a locally owned, well-stocked convenience store.

  • On the South Slope, Chemist Spirit’s Antidote offers speciality coffee, espresso, and tea in a luxurious setting.

Where to get Lunch
in Downtown Asheville:

  • Woolworth Walk is a great place to grab lunch - the original soda fountain is still operational, serving egg creams, sandwiches, ice cream sodas, and more.

  • On Saturdays and Sundays, you can find brunch at Ben’s Tune Up, a sake bar with a great enclosed patio located on the South Slope.

  • As an NY native, Kara’s favorite downtown slice can be found at Birdie’s Pizza. Sourdough crust, fresh ingredients, and a head pizza chef who loves a good joke, make it Nate’s favorite, too.

Where to get Dinner
in Downtown Asheville:

  • We love Table, a small, New American, farm-to-table restaurant with a rotating seasonal menu, and a very creative chef.

  • Pack’s Tavern is another popular spot, with more classic American fare (Nate’s favorite is the meatloaf), a very cozy, warm atmosphere, and over 30 local beers on tap.

  • By night, Ben’s Tune Up doubles as an Asian-fusion restaurant, serving delicious curries and rice dishes to complement the delicious sake.

  • Shamrock Irons features traditional Irish fare like fish & chips, corned beef & cabbage, and bangers & mash.

  • Birdie’s Pizza is open for dinner in addition to lunch!

Where to Get Dessert in
Downtown Asheville:

  • When you start smelling fresh baked cookies, you know you’re close to Mary’s Mountain Cookies!
They have all sorts of delectable sweet treats, and you can even watch the dough-making process from the street!

Where to Drink in Downtown Asheville:

  • Antidote by Chemist Spirits is a local distillery in an old apothecary, known primarily for its gin, but for its vodka and whiskey as well. It’s our favorite place to get a impeccably-made cocktail!

  • Two doors down on Coxe Ave, you’ll find one of the South Slope’s most unique bars at Asheville Sports Club, where you can play basketball or pickleball (or just kick back and watch)!

  • Ben’s Tune Up serves primarily as a sake bar, where you can find unique flavors like Pineapple Jalapeno and Lemon Ginger!

  • Shamrock Irons serves as Downtown Asheville’s only Irish Pub, and it’s where you’ll find live music, traditional Irish food, and plenty of Guinness and Jameson!

  • If you’re looking for Asheville nightlife, look no further than Banks Ave. Bar. Featuring no cover (ever), games like corn hole, billiards, and skee ball; and events like drag shows, trivia, and line dancing, you’ll hate to leave once 2 am rolls around.

Where to Shop in Downtown Asheville:

  • Wall St. Market has all the toiletries, phone chargers and medicine you forgot at home, as well as a good selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, cigars, cigarettes, and more.

  • Our favorite downtown boutique is Lost & Found, which has an incredibly unique collection of both new and resale men’s and women’s clothes in all kinds of fun patterns and styles. Mention the Asheville Brewery Map for 15% off!

  • Woolworth Walk is the perfect downtown spot to find a locally-made gift or souvenir. Originally a department store in the 1930s, the space has been re-vitalized and turned into a two-story art gallery and market.

Where to have fun in Downtown Asheville:

  • We’re big fans of Breakout Games, an escape room experience right across the street from Pritchard Park. With eleven unique rooms (our favorites are Clue and Wild West), friendly and helpful game masters, and a 10% discount for mentioning the map, you can’t go wrong!

  • Static Age Records doubles as a music venue by night, featuring a myriad of local and regional acts. Check out their schedule here!

Where to find art in downtown asheville:

  • Woolworth Walk serves as downtown’s largest and most varied art gallery. With two stories of local art and wares, an old-school soda fountain, and cool art-deco architecture, this is one of our favorite places to bring visitors.

Where to find MJ in downtown asheville:

  • Look no further than Smokey Mountain Hemp Co. Featuring a helpful, knowledgeable staff, a visible grow house where you can get a first-hand look at the product you’re purchasing, and plenty of CBD, Delta, and THC-A products, including flower, vapes, and seltzers, this is your one-stop shop for legal marijuana in Asheville.
